About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make a new friend today

ABOUT ME

Small eyes; big smile; bold, loud but definely not proud!

If I am stranded in an island, I'll take 3 things with me- a camera to take lots of photos; a notebook to scribble and mumble; and a cooking oven to cook up some exotic dish with ingredients I can find. I got to enjoy myself before being rescued and go back to the reality of my hectic life righttt?? I seek joy in the simplest thing in life!

I grew up in Subang Jaya - a suburban city (20km west from Kuala Lumpur- the capital city of Malaysia). I recently graduated from the North East of England and will be doing a mini Europe backpacking trip this August with my brother before heading back to Malaysia. I may be a city girl but don't be surprise to find me rolling on the grass and chasing after butterflies; mingle and wiggle with lame puns and rhymes haha!

I have been and always enjoy being involved in community development projects (environmental, education, social). I may not be good in sports but I do play table tennis, badminton and basketball. I am an adventurous, curious kid at heart and so you'll always see me clicking away with my camera! I am game for new experience and meeting new people! I can be chatty and silly at times but I can be serious when the situation demands.

PHILOSOPHY

Pay it forward!

Laughter is the best medicine!

Be the change you want to see. -Gandhi

Keep your face towards the sunlight, let the shadows fall behind you.

Live in the present moment, don't dwell too much on the past and speculate about the future. (That doesn't mean you must not have plans and goals in life!)

Karma bites so treat others the way you want to be treated. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very new to CS but I've heard so much about couchsurfing I'm game to try it out myself! I've had friends who couchsurfed and they shared so many wonderful experiences!

I am looking forward to my first couch surfing experience this August 2014! :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first met a big bunch of couch surfers at a Holi festival at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! It was a blasting fun of colour powder, water and music!

I'm very new to CS, looking forward to my first couch surfing experience this August 2014! :D

Interests

I believe that learning is a life long journey. Travelling is the best enriching experience money can't buy. I prefer living with the locals to learn about the city.

I love trying a variety of things- experiment with a new dish/ learn a new skill / explore a new place/ meet new people. I am interested to learn kickboxing, dancing and a new language. I prefer outdoor activities than getting myself drunk at parties.

Writing is my way of expressing and to put my jumbled up thoughts in place.I think puns are fun!

I am cheeky yet geeky; lame but definitely not tame!

I love the thrill of roller coasters but not horror movies or ghost tales! I hope I would have the chance to do bungee jumping and sky diving!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First witness turtles laying eggs at Perhentian Island! There's something very magical watching the turtle carefully digging a hole ashore and laying the eggs. It was a lengthy process at 3am in the morning and I helped in conservation of the eggs with other Ecoteer volunteers!

Was involved in the local food TV program when I was in Ningbo China. It was fun hopping from one restaurant to another, indulging in the local cusines and being in front of the camera! I was also a volunteer teaching English in a local primary school in Ningbo China for a month.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak English, Chinese (mandarin) and Malay so I can teach you some words (or possibly some pick up lines HAHA)!

Maybe we can share some simple cooking recipes too!

I am interested to learn about other cultures, languages and cooking. I also love listening to your travel stories!
