Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think you’ve only half-traveled when you’ve gone somewhere and not spoken with or made an effort to meet the locals in that area. Seeing a place is one thing, but engaging with the people there, opening your heart to people of different mindsets, ways of life, religion, and views of the world gives a whole other dimension and meaning to the place you’ve visited. And that’s what couchsurfing allows us to do!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked on a documentary photography project that tells the stories of the refugees residing in a refugee camp in Greece through their tattoos. I’ve volunteered in different camps over the years, but that was an experience that allowed me to delve into their stories and experiences in a way I’ve never done before. I’ve been so lucky to meet the most extraordinary and resilient people through this project.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak, read, and write in Arabic, so I would definitely be able to spend some time with my hosts teaching them the language if they’re interested. Im also a photographer, filmmaker, artist, and calligraphist, and I’d be more than happy to do a piece for my hosts to show my gratitude! In return, I would just love to meet new people and hear their stories and share with them my own about my travels and art. I also love learning new languages, so if my host happens to have some extra time, I would love to do that during my time with them!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge of travel, particularly in the Middle East, and teach them phrases in Arabic if they are interested. I am also very eager to meet new people and share new friendships with hosts all around the world.
