Hi everyone! My name is Aiyana and this is the beginning of my journey. For as long as I can remember I thought life was a straight line: finish high school, get a college degree, get a job, get married, have kids, die. I never fit the mold and it was frustrating trying to force a square peg in a circular hole. So finally, I am following my true desires.

I am planning a year long, world-round trip to learn about mental health practices in other countries. I want to know if everyone is getting the same treatment, what their cultures and religions tell them about mental illness, and what their stories are.

When I return I want to use this knowledge to help the people in my community who struggle with more severe mental illnesses which includes myself.
