About Me

Eldest of 5 siblings, I grew up in southern Spain in a small city famous for it's sherry, flamenco and horses. Was educated in the UK countryside, university in the US and Australia, and completed Master degree in Spain. Currently living in Madrid, hugely enjoying life. Until recently, was working for a successful Spanish start-up in the sharing economy.

I love hiking, laughing, extreme skiing, long-boarding, having animated discussions on the state of world affairs over wine and delicious food, and reading. I'm a weekday vegetarian, but will pretty much try any food (I had some crispy crickets in Vietnam, quite tasty I admit).

I would like to make the world a better and more sustainable place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is my first time, so I'm curious about the experience!

Music, Movies, and Books

I consume books like there is no day after tomorrow. Current favourites are: "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" by Murakami; "Alibaba: The House that Jack Ma built" by Thiel and Blake; "Doppler" by Loe. Would love to hear your suggestions!

More of a series than movie person although I will never tire of "The Secret life of Walter Mitty". Love "Vikings" and documentaries. I have a weakness for "Masterchef Australia".

Music depends on my mood... and day of the week.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I want to set up my own company... Until then, when I went skiing in the Patagonia for 9 weeks getting my alpine skiing instructors qualification, will have to do. I was also interviewed by Forbes Spain for a full page piece this past June and have travelled to more than 30 countries!

Teach, Learn, Share

As a way of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not a very good cook, but I personally think I'm pretty decent company with a playful sense of humour and posees an adventurous streak.

If that's not enough, I can also pick up some Jamón Serrano, Manchego cheese or a bottle of something Spanish on my way to your couch!
