About Me

I grew up in Southern California and now living in the Pacific Northwest of the United States in Seattle, Washington. I can't imagine living a life away from the coast. I love visiting places very different from my own and learning about how others live. I will be visiting Europe for the first time this fall and hope to experience what life there is like. I can sometimes have a philosophical streak and really enjoy listening to other perspectives.

Some things about me: I am very much involved with ultimate frisbee (flying disc), I used to play badminton competitively, I am actively learning to climb outdoors. I'm also allergic to shellfish (shrimp, crab, lobster) and fish eggs which makes me really sad. I enjoy cooking and regularly cook meals with friends at home. My friends would probably describe me as kind, curious, compassionate, sharp, and difficult to buy presents for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I finally decided to go on a big trip after so many years saying I'd do it. I will be road tripping with a friend across the United States with a month long visit to Europe in the middle of it. We will be visiting London, Paris, the French Alps, Switzerland, Munich, Split, Venice, Tuscany. It has taken me a while to save for this and I would like to make friends along the way. When I find my future home back in the USA, I would happily host travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I favor the Fantasy genre but I also like non-fiction books about intelligence, cognitive science, human behavior, and history.
Generally, I like most music - many cultures and many genres - as long as it suits the mood of the moment
I favor all kinds of humorous movies (dark, corny, youth, slapstick, parody, satire), action films (I grew up a comic book nerd), documentaries. I also enjoy adult sitcoms like Friends, Parks and Recreation, How I Met Your Mother, etc. And Game of Thrones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most recent one was fundraise monies for a very expensive camera lens for a friend that truly deserved to expand her photography passions. This friend does so much for my community here in Seattle that we wanted to express our gratitude and love for her in a big way. We definitely surprised her!
