À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Fit my life into a rucksack
ABOUT ME
Term time night owl with messy hair that sleeps during day? No, not quite (but slightly).
Genetics student at the University of York, usually found cooking late at night, reading about anything to cross her path and amassing books and cheesy themed items. Just another girl in the world trying to get out and about when the universe allows; trying to grow-up to be Batman. I like to learn about people and never grow tired of the excitement of introductions ( though you should be prepared for my awkward first impressions).
I grew up between England and the island of St.Lucia in the West Indies so my accent has tendencies to 'slip', but it has given me a deep appreciation of varying cultures (and a perma tan ). Perfectly content with a quiet night inside or going out to cafes and bars and rather open to everything in between. I've worked here and there, Video game shop, bartender, selling cameras, farmers market hand and all other 'non-jobs'.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't just exist, live
Try everything you can, while you can
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting whenever I can and spreading the good word,
Reminding people that 'the place to sleep' is better viewed as an opportunity to get a brand new, unique view of things (and a chance to leave comprehensive reviews on sofa comfort levels)
NOTE: 02/2018-
I apologise to anyone who has been sending me couch requests over the past few weeks, I've been unable to reply as I've been out and about my self and due to the wondrous fail of the couchsurfing mobile site.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed in Japan and France with only positive tales to tell, and was a lucky host to some brilliant surfers so far.
Centres d'intérêt
Film, language, video games, seeing and tasting new things, page turning, being lazy with my pets, leaving origami around the house and sticking drawings to doors.
I'm always up for being sightly lost, it's the best way to discover new places and in my experience has served me rather well. Despite often describing myself as lazy I am a fan of DIY (maybe because I'm cheap) and all nature based activities that end of begin at altitude. Churches and religious architecture are also a plus.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Interested in all varieties of music from classic orchestral to modern rock and alternative. I enjoy a good film and game score (Bioshock ST and Lord of the Rings anyone?). Music my mum grew up with and songs I wouldn't let her listen to.
Gaiman, Stephen King, Pratchett, Murakami I like a lot of fantasy but slice of life creeps in every now and then.
Don't know where to start on films, but I never tire of Tarantino and I enjoy both horror (even bad zombie films are good) and painfully bad films
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Walking on frozen rivers in Scotland and abseiling down quarries in St.Lucia.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I'm notoriously inquisitive; I want to learn about everything across the board. As far as teaching goes, I'm sure I know a few nuggets of knowledge to pass along, so perhaps I can drop you some useless facts and English language bits.
