Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Last year I had the pleasure to meet and host several couch surfers. My roommate at the time, Maxwell Cottingham, was a member and had with previously surfed around Europe. The experience was awesome! We had people surf from all over the world and it was a gratifying feeling to open up to complete strangers and show them around town! Learning about different cultures and sharing my own experiences broadened my horizons and I hope to experience something similar in my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never actually surfed. I have never left the country. Just booked my first abroad flight to England. I want to experience the English night life, soak up as much art appreciation as possible, and spend time with good people.

Interests

I am interested in learning, expressing, and enjoying each moment of this miracle we call life. As an artist I am constantly thinking critically about my experience as a human, and what I can do to express my ideas and appreciate the things that inspire me. I love getting creative! I dabble in several instruments and dip my fingers into several mediums. I rock climb, skate, snowboard and love being in the outdoors! I enjoy meeting new people and change can never be a bad thing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love to read about art related philosophy and quirky children books like DR Suess. Never forget the classics. Love all music and appreciate everything from hip hop to bluegrass, electronic to rock n' roll... Not much of a movie buff but I do enjoy the occasional film.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing experience.. that is a hard one to pin down. Although I am grateful for a lot, I have had the privilege to travel several times on horseback through the Continental Divide, in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. This isolated immersion in nature provided a humble inspiration that I still appreciate today.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy meeting other artists and anyone who questions the environment in which they thrive. Im interested in what inspires other people. How aesthetics initiate emotional and physical responses? I've been producing art since a young age and have a lot of experience with various media 2D and 3D media: watercolor, oil, acrylic, spray-paint, paint markers, graphite, charcoal, steel, plaster casting, ect.. Outside of studio production, I enjoy rock balancing and using other non-traditional media.
I also rock climb, play music, skateboard, and involve myself with a variety of outdoor activities! I like to broaden my horizons by sharing experiences, interests, and interacting/collaborating with new people and ideas.
