ABOUT ME

I am a very courteous guest who does his best to impose as little as possible. When I travel I do so lightly, as I'm usually on a motorcycle. I am generous and am willing to help out around the house with my hosts doing dishes after meals, etc. I am late to bed and early to rise. When hosting I love to cook and bring people exploring around my neighborhood.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I spent ten months in Iraq during 2008-2009. The experience was all very surreal and spawned many stories, some of which I'm willing to share.

Riding a motorcycle through the mountains of West Virginia is an experience that will always stay with me. The back roads and ridge backs lined with sheep farms are a sight that is so beautiful in its serene simplicity.

In Yellowstone Nat'l Park I saw smoke billowing from a forest fire that was inside the park many miles away. The smoke rose in a column and spread out in the lower atmosphere like some giant tree canopy. The sunlight that filtered through it splintered into the color spectrum, as if it were passing through a prism. This was in the early evening on a night were the moon was visible before darkness had settled in. From my angle, the moon rested atop the smoke-clouds, as if the clouds were supporting the moon.
