ABOUT ME
I am a student (and sometimes teacher) of philosophy, getting my doctorate in Pittsburgh. This year I am working on my dissertation at the University of Kassel on a Fulbright Fellowship.
PHILOSOPHY
I am committed to pursuing questions about the way things are, and also I try to follow the imperative of self-knowledge.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed a few times in my life, and it's always been a great experience.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had a good time couchsurfing, met nice people and had fun.
Interests
Above all I'm interested in good conversation; the kind where you put yourself out there and try to learn something. Also I enjoy wine, books, and music.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books - Aristotle, Hegel, Kant, Plato. Virginia Woolf, Faulkner, Wallace Stevens. Dante, Cervantes, Shakespeare. Borges, St. Augustine, Freud. More recently: Deleuze, Badiou, Harman, Sextus Empiricus, and Bruno Latour.
Music - Recently I've been listening to a lot of Crystal Castles, Azealia Banks, Future Islands, and Sleigh Bells. I love 'indie' rock, experimental music, and I also have a soft spot for pop and especially mash-ups. I think that Mozart's Don Giovanni might be the most perfect artwork.
Movies - I don't watch a ton of movies, but I enjoy Fellini's 8 1/2 and Jurassic Park.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Marrying my partner was pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't really know anything, but we can talk about it. I'm prepping for a course on Sextus Empiricus right now, so I could probably talk a lot about ancient skepticism.
