About Me

CURRENT MISSION

staying alive

ABOUT ME

I'm boring and shy. Which is a bummer since I like to spend my time with people - fortunately I work in IT and people have to come to me if they want their issues solved.

PHILOSOPHY

I've lived 25 years in Germany, 10 months in Britain, 11 years in Poland and in Romania since May 2015. I feel rather uprooted - I know that nationality does not define a person, there are nice people and arseholes everywhere : )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I guess I'll let some people stay at my place, and find out if there's anywhere I'd like to go from here.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted somebody twice and been to two people, so I am a newbie at this. : /

Interests

Fantasy and science fiction in literature and film, literature in general.
I also like boardgames.
Music, lots of different music. last.fm/user/irregularnerd

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list, honestly. Most recently I've been quite impressed by the writings of George RR Martin. I do also like comedians like Dylan Moran, Eddie Izzard or Tim Minchin. I've been very into music in the 90s, but somehow I've not moved on much, so most of what I listen to is what was played in that time(or the 70s), Kyuss is my favourite band of all time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I'm a professional language teacher, so there's always that. I also like to cook(mostly non-polish dishes but I'm afraid to call them mediterranean or asian in case somebody from Asia or the Mediterranean comes to visit), especially if somebody else does the dishes afterwards : ) I do feel that having lived for quite a while in two countries made me a good observer of their differences, hence I can go on and on about what I think the differences and similarities are.
You can also ask me quite a bit about computers.
