Music, Movies, and Books
We have a varied top of movies and music, going from Inception to Midnight in Paris, stepping into Despicable Me and some chick-flicks.
Andrés loves AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Rap music and Carlos Vives. I (Ana) like Bossa Nova and Cuban music, as well as Gypsy Guitar and more things to dance like
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We travelled from Bucaramanga to Bogotá (394 Km) in a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle. Because of the age of the car we did the trip in two phases: the first one was on a Saturday from Bucaramanga to the beautiful colonial town of Barichara, also stopping in Curití and Guane. Barichara is an amazing place for taking pictures and just walking through its stoned streets, eating an ice cream in the main park, buying handcraft objects, visiting churches and eating local food. We stayed in a good hostel uphill with a view to the cathedral towerand the clay roofs. On Sunday we started our way very early, making a stop in the colonial villa of Socorro, everything went well until we arrived to a very high part of the road were there wasn´t enough oxygen for the car to go fast enough, so we were going very slowly and at the same time freezing because we couldn't close the windows the glass wouldn't mist up. In the end we arrived save to Bogotá just before it got dark, but it was very fun!
Teach, Learn, Share
We are very into learning local traditions. Maybe learning to cook a typical meal, important festivities or about local handscrafts. Trying new things is one of our hobbies!
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can share our Colombian traditions, especially in the kitchen, we are very keen to cook a delicious Colombian meal and share a good talk around the table. We are very into culture and sports, so we promise there will be something to talk about.
