Hola, my name is Aj, I'm a 27 year old student who lives in Dunedin, New Zealand, and loves travel. I'm studying Marketing and Spanish at university and am always looking to travel during my holidays!

I'm looking to do as much as possible and meet as many people as possible, and can always offer up a couch back home in New Zealand for anyone looking to explore the world! I enjoy staying in hostels and meeting everyone and having fun, but I love the idea of living like a local, and being able to do some of the non touristy things!

Easy going, relaxed type of guy who laughs at anything, more than happy planning my trip on my own, watching a movie, going out for drinks until the early hours, or cooking a home dinner with my host! I know it can be odd having a stranger in your home, but it’s morally important to treat someone else’s home, like you would expect them to treat yours.

I'm very intrigued by other cultures and new experiences, and love getting outside my comfort zone!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and am taking advantage whilst I still have huge holidays for university, and I would like to get a good understanding from locals about their town/city/country. Hopefully when I graduate, I will be able to move countries to work/live!

I have only heard good things about this website, and I think staying with locals is the best way to get to know the ins and outs of a city, the lifestyle, the differences in culture, the food and a great way to meet people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Acatenango Volcano in Guatemala will always be a memory that stays with me.

Camping amoungst bears in Yosemite National Park and climbing the Half Dome! Hopefully more to come!

Teach, Learn, Share

Hopefully I can practice/learn more español!!! I love cooking, but in New Zealand, we don’t have a cuisine. I would love to keep practising my Spanish, in exchange for cooking or cleaning or anything!

I know taking a stranger in to your home can be a weird thought, and I understand this, so I am more than happy to cook or clean to help contribute towards the accomodation!
