ABOUT ME

The name Ami, which means friend in French, has been a bitter sweet experience for me. I can recall crying to my mother because kids would make fun of it. I even wanted to change my name as soon as I was legally capable.

Today, those years of despisement has made me a better and stronger person. Getting tangled up emotionally by the opinion of others is a thing of the past - I am who I am and no one can change that. "Treat others the same way you like to be treated" is my pillar of truth. I suppose those years of unfair treatment has made me want to help in any way I can. If you need a helping hand for something, the answer is yes.

My passion is in the arts. Being a shy kid, writing songs and making movies has showed me that it's therapeutic, even essential for anyone to express their thoughts. When you meet me you'll see that I sing all the time (rest assured, it's not so bad that I'm a nuisance).

Fun and play aside, I'm in the process of starting a coffee roasting business in Ottawa. I like how coffee brings people together and, because everyone is sober, it creates the most interesting and memorable conversations.

The only way to predict the future is to invent it.
If you fail to plan, you're planning to fail.
Don't take life too seriously, you won't get out of it alive
You get what you give but not always immediately. Keep giving and some day you'll get some

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2012, I went to Portland with my friend and had my first couch surfing experience. The best decision we made. Definitely a "once you go big, you don't go back" kind of moment.

Skydived recently. Surprisingly it was very relaxing (except for jumping off the plane)
