Overview
About Me
I'm a builder, business owner, tinker, and student living on beautiful Mount Desert Island tucked away from the main roads. I'm building a tiny house and living with/renting from two of the sweetest old folks you ever met. They will welcome you and make you laugh. I will also totally welcome you -- I love meeting new people and hearing their stories.
I live in what most would call recreation heaven however I'm not a big "rec" guy and prefer to stay at home (especially in the summer when it is super busy here!) as I have more than enough to keep me busy at home, and prefer the calm and quiet of my forest-edge abode. However if you strike at the right moment you might catch me in a moment of inspiration and I could be swayed to go with you to one of the many destinations on the island fora hike, swim, drink, or movie.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to meet interesting people and hear their stories.
Interests
In addition to building a tiny house I'm learning all about electricity and "green" or sustainable power systems. I'm creating a solar power system basically from scratch, using old recycled laptop battery cells and the like. I love poetry, fairy tales, anthropology, and I especially love slow mornings with a friend reading out loud, sipping snobbishly good coffee munching on sourdough pancakes.
My ultimate happy way to spend an evening with friend(s) is out DANCING somewhere to one of the many styles I love to dance to. I'm not a super practiced dancer I just enjoy it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I backpacked around Maritime Canada and Vermont for several months without spending any money.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning about just about anything. I could perhaps teach a bit about contra-dancing, painting, or carpentry if the opportunity presents itself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love sharing an afternoon or evening out exploring together or having a bite to eat. I can provide the "Oo" and "ahhh" soundtrack for the tour of your town. ;-)
Or, I would love to stay in, help you with a project around the house, cook a nice meal together, etc.
