About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To boldly go where no one has gone before-- or at least give it a damned good try.

ABOUT ME

I'm an introvert and a Scorpio, a good listener and a loyal friend. There's a great big world out there, and I want to explore it. I am also 100% LGBT+ friendly, if you're in need of a safe and judgement-free place to spend a night or few.

(My partner's name is Sam, and he's my more outgoing half. He's also Swedish.)

PHILOSOPHY

I'd probably describe myself as socially liberal, though not of the militant variety. I respect the beliefs of others as long as mine are respected in turn. An open mind is incredibly important, as is the ability to accept people for who they are and respect them in spite of our differences from them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm starting out as a surfer, but I do also host on occasion. My humble home always has a project or three going on, but the spare bed is clean and comfortable and the shower is hot. I do have two cats and a small dog, so take note if you have allergies!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think I'd say we're... gently broken in?

Interests

Sci-fi/fantasy, cats, the great outdoors, mythology, history, LGBTQ+ things, civil rights, human sexuality and gender, sexuality education, geriatrics, BBC TV, reading, writing, learning to fix things in my house, video games, renaissance faires, food, cooking, and lots of other stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can't possibly list all of my favorite books. Alexandre Dumas, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Jim Butcher, and Tolkien lay at the top of my favorites list. I grew up on Star Trek and Star Wars was my first fandom. Anime and manga make me happy.

Music? I'll listen to just about anything.

As far as movies go, if it's sci-fi, horror, or fantasy, I'll probably be all for it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once shook Terry Pratchett's hand. No lie. And I stood a few feet away from Neil Gaiman. That was one of the best days of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm willing to learn anything, especially if it's a skill that's rare in this day and age.

What to teach, what to teach... I'm a beast when it comes to cleaning, so I suppose that's a viable skill? Oh, and editing. I love writing and editing the crap out of things, and talking through story ideas.

Countries I’ve Visited

Sweden, United Kingdom
