About Me

I just reread my legacy profile which I wrote about 12 years ago when I started couchsurfing and I have the biggest smile on my face and heart. I am back on here after a hiatus staying in a little cocoon (time well spent) and so excited to be joining this vibrant and life-affirming community again.

I am a bodyworker by trade, helping people heal trauma in the low key-est way I could find because that shit is scary and we here to chill, lol. And I’m living in the Quad Cities (3 hours west of Chicago) with my sweet little (not so little) dog who met me in India. (It’s a long and very sweet story).

I’m also studying animation and just started singing karaoke.

I love to cook and share recipes. Love going for long aimless walks. And love spending time with my friends and making new ones.

As my old profile said, “Everyone’s strange but no one has to be a stranger.” Lol.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am starting to travel again after several years of spending time with myself and building my life and home. I missed this community a lot and am excited to host and travel. I find that couchsurfing is not just a community but a way of life. Staying open to the world and calibrated to its beauty

Music, Movies, and Books

My brain literally gets frozen trying to name them all, but special mention must be given to...

FKA Twigs, Madonna and Prince

The film The Birdcage

and the books “The Neverending Story,” “Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe,” “Legacy” by Suzanne Methot, “Come As You Are,” “Women Who Run with the Wolves” and “Witches, Midwives and Nurses”

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Found my dog in India and moved her back to the States with me even though everyone said I was crazy. She followed me on the bus and I said as long as she keeps following me, I’ll keep following her. That was eight years ago and she is my best friend in the whole wide world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My skills in bodywork, specifically craniosacral therapy. General humor, kindness and respect and care for life. Also how to make amazing daal.
