ABOUT ME

I moved to Alaska 2 years ago because I wanted to be near mountains. In the summers I play ultimate frisbee, hike, kayak (rarely), and explore this state. In the winters I work a lot (teacher schedule) and swing dance. I have pretty modest morals and an early bedtime during the school year. I am also a musician - singer, pianist, and oboist by trade, though I am constantly trying to learn new instruments.

My roommate is also a music teacher and also moved to AK about 2 years ago. She lived in France for a year and worked in India for two years before coming here. Neither of us are partiers, but we love BBQs and spending time with friends.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We just signed up for CS recently, and would like to meet new people who are visiting Alaska. We get lots of interesting travelers up this direction, and it would be fun to meet some new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never used this website before, but I have often stayed with friends of friends when I am traveling through a new area. People have been very generous to me and have given me comfortable homes when I showed up on their doorstep.
