Hello and thank you for coming. I am a 25 year old dude from Alaska following through with a plan to live and work in Australia. I thoroughly enjoy learning about new people and cultures as well as sharing my own experiences and knowledge. I am not exactly great at writing these things, but I do love to a good real life conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used couchsurfing in 2010 when my brother and I hitchhiked the United States for year. I found out that I really enjoy finding lodging this way and that it is much more of a learning experience than staying at a hotel or even a hostel. I will be working soon and will only need lodging in this first week I am in Australia while I get my bearings.

Interests

I am interested in any sort of physical activity except free climbing. I am extremely interested in the mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking Australia has to offer. I do have a borderline phobia of water. It will be a challenge, but I hope to face this fear while I am in Aus. I want to try scuba diving, surfing, and many other things. If you are confident and want to "break my cherry", I am genuinely prepared to try to face what my nightmares are made of.

When I read, it is typically science fiction or journal articles.
