Overview
About Me
I was born and raised bilingually in Japan... moved to Okinawa alone at the age of 16. I married and had my son at 18 and moved to the US (NC) for the first time at 20. I had my daughter a few months after being here.
After my husband and I separated only a year after being in the US... I found a way to care for the kids and myself for 2 years. I paid for and was granted my divorce and full custody of the kids. It wasn't easy but we'll worth it! I saved to go back to Japan as well. But of course I met the man who I am now married to, only a few months before I went back. We stayed in touch and after 9 months, I moved back here to be with him. And it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made!
I have traveled within the US to over 10 states including Florida, Virginia, Nevada, Kentucky, West Virginia, Georgia etc. Since the kids are young is not easy, but I love seeing new places and when I can I love taking them too but of course I love when I can get away for a day or two (or more? 😂 Maybe once they are older!)

I love insightful books. Autobiographies... Charlie Chaplin's is my favorite. I also enjoy psychology, self help, personal finance... history etc.
I enjoy most movies except for horror. I like suspense, romance, character study, action, comedy... it all depends on my mood. I love movies from the 50s! Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Esther Wlliams... Howard Keel are some of my favorites!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I left home (mainland Japan) at 16, to live in Okinawa! It has been a wild journey, but so glad I did that!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love exchanging the different cultural experiences, ideas, views... I also love to cook! But I'm not good at following recipes😂
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love intellectual conversations... I can tell you all about Japan since my parents moved every 1-3 years as I was growing up. I've lived from Aomori (up north) to Okinawa (way south, the little island)!
I am the 3rd of 11 kids😊
