Pursuing my studies at the University of Amsterdam.

I grew up in the southern part of India. Travelling has always been my passion and as I visited various parts of India, I realized how different the cultures were, and moreover, it just made the experience of visiting those places so much better. I made it a point to learn about the different cultures and traditions whenever I went to a different city.

When I moved to Amsterdam for doing my internship in Psychology, I found the way of life in the Netherlands amazing. The people are so friendly greeting each other, inviting for a cup of coffee or beer. I was mesmerized by this new culture- I spent the first month visiting nearby cities and exploring Amsterdam.

My current mission is to visit, learn and make friends in various parts of Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just love the concept of couchsurfing. I believe that it is a wonderful way to find some of the coolest people.

I frequent couchsurfing events in Amsterdam; met some of the coolest and open minded locals, tourists from various parts of the world. Even though we had just met, we had awesome time dancing and exploring the night life in Amsterdam. Most of all, what I appreciated from fellow tourist recounts was how different and interesting different cultures were.

I believe couchsurfing will help me connect with the different cultures and make my experience a memorable one.

Interests

I play the flute (classical music). I am trying to learn a new instrument - piano. And Amsterdam is the best place for that!

Reading, occasional dancing - though I am not that good :P, traveling (I do believe travelling without phone is the best)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Of late, German pop songs ;) I think, they are brilliant.

Books - Some of my favorite ones include 'The Da Vinci code', 'Inferno', 'Message in a bottle'

Movies - Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies. I am a movie buff. I love watching different genres of movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a few high altitude treks in the himalayas (16000 ft). I hope to do a mountaineering course someday.
