Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel to as many places as possible. I'd like to meet people from all walks of life to discover how similar or different we are. Either way, I think everyone can learn something from one or another.
ABOUT ME
I'm an open minded individual who is looking to explore new places and new faces. I am a recent grad, working as a journalist, hoping to get the opportunity to travel more often.
I strongly believe that people shouldn't judge each other negatively. Instead, get to know someone and change your perspective.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is to do things that make you happy, even if you have to ride the struggle bus to get there. I've lost too many loved ones, life is too short to be unhappy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I decided that I wanted to travel across the country and a few of my friends suggested that I try couchsurfing. I looked up what couchsurfing is and fell in love with the idea. Traveling and making new friends along the way, who wouldn't love that?
Unfortunately with my current living situation, I wouldn't be able to host anyone overnight, but I'd be down to show anyone around who is staying in the area for a bit.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have surfed once, and have gone to a few CS meetups and met really cool people. I hope to attend more CS events, but unfortunately, it's really hard to come across one in Connecticut.
Interests
I enjoy writing, reading, hiking, knitting, playing guitar, planning my next trip, planning a trip for someone else. I like hanging out with my family and friends whenever I can.
I also enjoy having decent conversations with people. I'm pretty introverted, but with the right topic, I can go on for days :P
Music, Movies, and Books
I like all types of music, I'm into supernatural and sci-fi movies and I have too many favorite books to name. (I was an English major)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I wouldn't call it "amazing," but I was traveling to the south and met a man who only spoke Spanish. We attempted to communicate with each other with gestures. I desperately wanted to understand what he was trying to say to say, as I imagine he was probably feeling the same way. We didn't give up on our "conversation," even though I'm pretty sure we were both talking about two different things.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can show people around to some of my favorite bars, parks, and beaches. I can teach you how to knit if you'd like. I can't teach guitar because I'm still learning myself, but I can teach you what know.
Learn: I would like to learn to cook a few new things.
Share: I can share with you my favorite books, or put you on to some of my favorite TV shows or probably something you've never tried before. If you're looking for someone to discuss literature and all things supernatural, I'm your gal ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer conversation, tell you about my life in Connecticut, I'm down to explore with you and maybe we can even learn something new about your hometown together. I'm also a great workout partner sometimes.
