About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Acquire skills! Meet crazy people! Develop dreams, follow dreams, abandon excess.

ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded human female who enjoys art, travel, and learning! Old movies, sunshine naps, interesting conversations. Life is too short to be serious. Drink a mimosa when you can. Drink seven!

Beba siete!

PHILOSOPHY

Still in the works! Usually something optimistic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in life by doing my best to be the kind of person I want to be around! I'm learning French and Spanish in order to communicate with more great people. I don't currently have a suitable couch to offer, but hope to soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No official "CouchSurfing" experience yet, but I've set out in a little white station wagon to cruise the west coast, stopping along the way to visit faraway family and comrades.

I've spent nights on cozy sofas, inflatable mattresses, sprawling guest beds, cushioned floors, and in the padded and curtained back of my trusty wagon. Nights under effervescent stars, nights against crawling cityscapes, mornings with trusted loved ones, and afternoons with freshly made friends.

Also spent one night on a public bench- you can't win them all!

Every new place leaves me with unique and highly valued memories.

Interests

Addicted to dance and design. Performance ballroom, in front of the mirror, social tail shakin', yoga; graphic design, style, architecture and interiors, DIY. I'll sing until my lungs go out. Or my throat, or the patience of anyone nearby.

Les mystères des langues m'envoûtent! The links between language/art/human culture/plants/history/brainworkings/perceptions/realities are enough to send me reeling into the depths of pensive reverie.

I enjoy walking through cities, forests, anywhere. I could walk for days if left to my own devices! Learning to make new drinks, struggling to cook food that isn't stir fry, making and entertaining friends, sketching and stretching, writing and editing, learning new skills and tricks.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a terrible weak spot for jazz and alternative (or anything sing-alongable, bass-heavy, atmospheric, fresh, or soulful), and no tolerance for adult contemporary.

I love classic movies and musicals, though I rarely think to watch films of my own accord. Jules & Jim, Breakfast at Tiffany's and Jesus Christ Superstar, mmm!

Books are a favorite way to explore, whether it's classical literature, impressionist poetry, or an insightful nonfiction. As long as my heart starts beating faster and the book challenges me, I'm hooked. Catch 22 and Crime & Punishment had me riveted!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite memories is of the time my ex-boyfriend and I hosted a "Champ and Tramp" at our sweet cabin in the woods. Friends came over dressed in winter gear from head to foot, and we tramped into the untrodden snow in the vast property behind said cabin with bottles of sparkling wine, our cries of "champaaagne!" echoing upward through the treetops and dissipating like so many howls to the watchful moon.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a second language learner, I'm happy to share tips on the English language. I have a love of photography, music, web design, and dance, and I'm happy to share whatever knowledge I can!

ALSO, I recently acquired a triad of balls for juggling! So we can try our damnedest to succeed at that.
