About Me

CURRENT MISSION

finally get my degree - without forgetting to live ;)

ABOUT ME

I suppose she would say: "Katharina is the one I would take with me on a lonely island, because she is able to to almost anything - exept knowing how to dress - and would probably save us somehow."
Of course that ist quite exaggerated, but I like doing things like sewing my own curtains, building shelves or cooking jam. I did a two-years-training in agriculture, so maybe my friend is not absolutely wrong in believing that I could produce something to eat. I certainly can when I am in my kitchen. And I like feeding people - so be prepared to eat lots of good food when you stay with me!
Apart from that I am good at procrastinating, but if anyone really needs me, I will be there. Too many people exhaust me, so I am not much of a party-girl. But if you talk to me in private, you will find me friendly, easygoing and thoughtful. Just try!
Don't trust your first impression, I am always different from what people think.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. At least not of this kind.
But I grew up with travelling not to hotels or camping sites but to friends of relatives or relatives of friends. House exchange with a family in Czec Republic, being allowed in a holiday cottage in southern France etc.
So first thing I think about when I want or have to go somewhere is: Who do we know there?
Now I want to try a new form of old habits ;)

Interests

I don't spend all my time cooking and sewing. When I don't absolutely have to go to university, I can easily stay in bed all day reading a good book or watching films. But most important for my wellbeing are music and dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies (trying to read the labels of my dvd-collection): The scent of a woman, The bucket list, Top hats, Jerry Maguire, Pride and Prejudice (the 1995 BBC production with Colin Firth!!!)
Music: 70s (Beatles etc.), Wise Guys, Swing music of any kind; Grieg, Beethoven

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I last came to visit my friend in Sweden, she greeted my with a two-day-old baby boy in her arms. I must have looked quite stupid and it took me some time to catch my breath. Of course I knew the baby would be born about that time - but she had not told me anything! Being allowed to hold him and care for him was a great honour!

Driving through the desert in Australia left me awestruck. Such a vastness! You can drive on for hours without seing much change in the landscape. And you can even sit down in the middle of the highway because you would be able to see approaching cars ages in advance ;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Sweden, United Kingdom
