ABOUT ME

I am an open minded, friendly an easy going person. Art and nature are important for me and I try to be careful with the resources of our earth and eat natural food. I like to laugh, to meet people and have good conversations about questiones of our existence and our connection to the earth and cosmos.
Since 2009 I am living in Berlin in a small two room flat by myself.
After being a teacher for 16 years I decided to become a freelanced artist. I work with acrylic and water colours and prepare exhibitions with my paintings. Since 20 years I travel one or two times a year to Russia, teaching at a teachers training seminar. I am working as well in England, China and USA with teachers and students. This way I'm travelling around a lot.
I like Berlin very much because it is a lively town and offers a big variety of events. And I would love to show it to a guest!

PHILOSOPHY

Thankfulness is a strong power. Everything what happens to me has a meaning; it is a gift or a challenge to make the best of it. Learning from life and developing more and more the ability to love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It would be a pleasure for me to host someone for some days in the times I am at home ;)
But I have to make clear that I am not a person who likes to hang out all night in Berlin and enjoy the night life. So if you are young and have the desire for this kind of experience, please try to find another host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a lot of experience in enjoying the hospitality of friends in Russia, England and USA.
With CS I had my first experience in May 2013 when I surfed in San Francisco and down the South Coast of California. It really moved me to experience the friendliness and openness of people I met for the first time. This openness for other people creates such a human atmosphere which is essential to develop world peace.

Interests

I am very much interested in people, other cultures and art. Visiting museums, walking or cycling in nature, having good conversations with people, reading books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 1988 I was in Lisbon and found an accommodation in a little pension in “Rua da Camo”. At 5 in the morning I woke up hearing strange noises. I looked from the balcony and saw huge flames coming out of the lower floor of the opposite house. I understood that it was serious, packed my bag pack and escaped. It was the beginning of the big fire in Lisbon, where the historical old city was destroyed.

Teach, Learn, Share

My main experience is in the field of teaching art to children. I am working with Waldorf education and Anthroposophy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Young people who would like to explore the nightlife of Berlin and come home late should try to find a host with equal interests. I would love to share with my guest a visit to a classical concert, opera or theater, a museum or just a walk around Berlin.
