Overview
About Me
Istanbul gentleman. Honest. Transparent. Funny. Travel addict.
All of the above pretty much describe who I am. I love meeting new people and making new friends. Getting connected with people is a source of great joy for me. There is no more happiness than talking to people from different nations and learning about their cultures, traditions, etc.
My life has been so far devoted to scientific research, and my primary goal is to become a Professor at a University.
Traveling is something that lives within my soul. I love exploring new places which makes me a wiser me. Experiencing people's lifestyles, traditions and communicating with them add to my knowledge about life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here because it was the best way to meet new people while having fun with seeing a new destination. Additionally, you always have the chance to be guided by a friendly host who got used to live in the target place for years. All these reasons make couchsurfing an awesome tool for connecting to people and traveling around.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: In fact I enjoy all genres of music which sounds good to ears, from classical music to death metal. But hold on, no, I do not like jazz I guess. For a couple of years I have been keeping up with popular music, both in Turkish and in English, though.
Movies: 12 Angry Men, The Wrestler, The Illusionist, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, The Prestige, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Pay It Forward, and more...
Books: Hearts in Atlantis, Pet Cemetery, Carrie, and Introduction to Environmental Engineering (seriously)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We traced Amish people in Ohio for hours with the hope of seeing them in their natural habitats and dresses, but we failed.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about the environmental effects of emerging water pollutants and their treatment options using chemical oxidation methods. I am not sure you'd be willing to hear it though :) Of course I can also teach you about the Turkish language and culture even though I am not a characteristic Turkish guy. Other than these I can always share my experiences on my way of academic journey with you guys. You might want to hear this.
