Hello Couchsurfing community!
I'm Akina, a 25-year-old Japanese girl, studying Phytotherapy (Herbal Medicine) in Victoria.
As you see from what I study, my passion is plants🌱 I sometimes enjoy harvesting wild edible plants and making medicines or cosmetics out of them.
If you go for nature with me, I will not be able to stop talking about plants we see on the way😉

Also, I like cooking a lot! I usually try to take time to prepare food with couchsurser guests and share my knowledge about healthy eating. I believe "We are what we eat" so I try to cook and eat healthy as much as possible. Guests I hosted before enjoyed the food I prepare a lot:)
I used to organise Japanese cooking classes for international travelers in Kyoto, so I can teach you how to cook Japanese cuisine as well.

I work as a Japanese tutor online as well as working as a translator sometimes.
Currently I am working on building my own website and making videos for Japanese learners.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always get inspired by meeting new people. Everyone has their own way of life, different experiences, hobbies and ideas. Sometimes I can find someone who has something in common but sometimes not. This is the most interesting and fantastic part! Since I joined Couchsurfing in 2015, I learned a lot while spending time with people. And I really appreciate all of the people I met. This is the reason why I'm here! I hope to see you soon and let's share our stories😁

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking with a couchsurfer in the West part of Japan for 40 days sleeping in a tent every night.
Traveling to Central and South America for about a year.
