Hi! My name is Aki, I’m from Osaka, Japan. I’m 40 years old but I feel much younger when I’m on the road! I’m an easygoing traveler who enjoys meeting new people and learning from different cultures.
I’ve traveled to about 30 countries so far. In the past, I was more of a “check all the sightseeing spots” kind of traveler. But now, I want to connect with local people, share real life, and get to know each country in a deeper way. Couchsurfing is perfect for that.
Right now, I’m traveling in Africa. My plan is to visit Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi, and Zambia. I’m especially excited to try local food, learn from people’s stories, and experience daily life in each place.
Fun fact: I quit smoking 4 years ago, but I still enjoy a cold drink and a good conversation. If you like football (soccer) or exploring hidden spots, we’ll probably get along very well!

And I want to share the culture, life and knowledge that only local people know.I can share Japanese culture, stories about working in the hotel industry, and I’d be happy to cook Japanese food or teach some Japanese phrases. I also love to sing, so karaoke is always an option!
