About Me

My name is Akos, I'm from Hungary. I love traveling, not just to see some sights but to meet locals and new cultures, I want to make memories that last forever. I prefer backpacking, walking more, seeing more, talking with strangers that can become friends.

Years ago I was too scared to do some things or say yes to randomness, but I realised since then that the best stories and experiences come from spontaneous adventures when I don't plan and think too much, just do it

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, find guides who can show their city from a local's perspective, talk about their area/country's culture, how things work there

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first bigger experience with international people was when we organised a general assembly for 1000 students of my student organisation from all over Europe. Right after started my studies, in a new city, with all new people. It was amazing. So many and interesting new people, many similarities and differences at the same time. It was years ago and I'm always looking for new adventures to meet new people from all over the world.

The other adventure was when one day I thought I should go to the USA, so I decided to spend a summer in working in a summer camp. It was a great idea, I met many interesting people, worked a lot which was tiring but the people I worked with are still really close to me and after camp we did a 2 week roadtrip in the west coast and National Parks nearby and that was the best travel experience I ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

I try not to take life too seriously, or care about what others might think about me, that's just takes too much energy and time.
