Hi! This is Akpar :)
I am a volunteer at one of the youth centers of beautiful Estonia. My travel history isn't that diverse, being from Kazakhstan the remotest place I used to visit was Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and that was because my home was right on the border. But after I won a scholarship and went to Turkey, in my second year of university I decided to actively travel, I visited numerous places in Turkey, and participated in dozens of educational programs that were related to cultural travel. So I fell in love with Istanbul and finally decided to discover European cities, meanwhile, I adopted a photography hobby and my narrowed-down area is historical buildings. Went to Poland for the Erasmus exchange program, and visited Italy in the middle of the pandemic. Traveled locally and solo in Silesia and its small magical cities. And my journey ends so far In Estonia and Baltics. 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being a volunteer in Estonia I now have an opportunity to finish my goal, so far I visited Italy and lived in Poland for a period of 1 year. Now I have a year of program in Estonia, which gave me another big boost of motivation to see, to learn, and to experience. After long research and recommendations I came upon the idea to try Couchsurfing, cause here I can see a very welcoming and heartwarming community where I can try myself as a host and a traveler.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is folk music along with modern experimental rap, I love flamenco and Nordic instruments. I love watching psychological horrors and masterpieces of Mathieu Kassovitz. I am obsessed with H. P. Lovecraft's books, and reading them whenever I feel lonely and stuck.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tried canoeing (amazing) and hiking in the swamp and bogs (more amazing).

Experience exchange is my main passion, especially now being a youth worker I value this, having my first solo trip in Europe I realized that I am learning and improving my skills by having fun.

We have a saying in Turkey "Everything that I can rip off of my heart". Also deep conversations about music, art and cultures.
