About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am exchange student in Ankara, my flatmate Yasemin is one of the most active couchsurfers in Ankara, so there is a fair chance we will meet anyway. Well see you, ifnot take care.

ABOUT ME

I study philosophy and history at Ljubljana university. I`m very self sufficient. I can talk for hours or just sit in the corner and read. I am quite open wich means I usually get relaxed quite quickly. I expect the same. Not so very keen on small talk, so If i host you you don't have to be all polite and Inqusitive, sometime people click and sometimes they don't that `s how the world goes.

I work as journalist for an independent Radio station in Ljubljana: http://radiostudent.si/

Sometimes I work as a museum guide in the Museum of conteporary art, Museum of modern art and in the Museum of contemporary history so naturally I can get you in for free. But in return you are stuck with my never ending lectures.

I also write about a vide variety of subjects. History, politics, philosophy, cinema and especially contemporary art. I am not an artist but I have curated some exhibitions.

I am also very much active in the underground scene of Ljubljana. I have organized a quite a few concerts and helped with some festivals usually in the most important team of them all (cleaning).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'try to host as much as I . So whatever i offer to You it's nothing i haven't received tenfold before.

I try to help CSers to find something even if I'm not able to host them.

The unreplieds are the guys I arranged a host for them and then met them in person so I didn't bother with a proper response

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS became really weird as for some it became a church of enlightened assholes of the world. It's not. At best it's a social lubricant. The same as alcohol. And the same as alcohol don't ruin drinking by talking about drinking.
I'm not an asshole. It's just that more and more people worship CS and talk about nothing else than CS. Kinda defeats the purpose.
CS is and will be a chance to travel cheaply. So people who ordinarily couldn't afford to can travel
And if you make a friend or two then even better.

And there is a lot of insencerity (i've been here a lot of times) you just want to crash somwhere for free and there you are sleepless writing an ode to some dude who likes the same books and you think he is interesting. You just want to sleep somwhere for free.CS has a billion of advantages but that's the main one. Others are just a bonus.

References show character. Requests are just meh.

Interests

I would like to see as much of the world as I possibly can, and by world I mean people. I would like to finish school in decent time and try to find a place for myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favourite authors are: Orwell, Douglas Adams, Frank Herebert, Umberto Eco, Huxley, Vonnegout, Theroux, Andric¡, Pamuk, Unamuno, Hemingway, Mann, Camus, Sartre, Wilde... I read quite a lot but mostly trivial stuff and I rarely remeber the author (not one of my best qualities)
I like all sorts of movies, Sci-fi (yes i'm a trekkie, but i'll leave you alone if you are not), I like European cinema (especially french and serbian cinema and my favourite gengre is post apocalyptic movies oh and I have a weak spot for old silent movies- we have a theatre in ljubljana that plays old movies (Silent films with live music!!) so if you are up to it...and it is a museum so its super cheap

As for music I like all music. . I especially love Etno or NeoEtno music, Rock and some metal (altough metalheads don't accept that as metal) Some of my favourite I suppose polpular artists are: Pixies, Tool, Radiohead, n'toko, Goran Bregovic€¡, EKV, Katalena, Sepultura, QOTSA, Kyuss, EODM, Primus, RATM, Laibach, Flight of the conchords... I am also slowly cultivatin a taste for Jazz.

oh and I love stand up: Carlin, Lewis. C.K., Izzard, Hedberg, Hicks, Wright, Chappellas....
