About Me

🚨 PLEASE READ🚨

Hello there! I'm Thiago and if you want to stay at my place you better read this through, send a personal message and hate cops...😉 Generic messages will be summarily ignored.

My big plan was work and travel all around the world doing what I can as a job, meeting new people, absorbing culture and clicking landscape with my eyes. But then corona came and I settled in Berlin.
Still have lots of travel to do, but now keeping a headquarters in this beautiful, dirty and colourful city.

An anarquist to the core. Even tho I'm not your regular punk, I hate your church and I'll burn your state, as Slayer would say ..😁
Although I'm respectful for an individual spirituality and locally organised communities, I do not support flags. Unless it's a pirate flag 🏴‍☠️ Institution is what fucks the shit up. I'll strive and struggle for freedom and peace until my last breath. RIGHT WINGERS AND WARMONGERS HAVE NO PLACE NEARBY ME! 🚨

Big fan of music, specially rock 'n' roll, funk soul and blues, between other organic music. Despite loving Berlin, I hate techno. It's not music. I try to learn how to play guitar since more than 20 years and still didn't got quite there. I'm not giving it up tho. The neighbours better be patient...😁

Least important, I work as a bartender for the last 10 years, and working in different countries galvanized me as a gastro profi. You won't find many that are up to my skills around. So, as a rule, first we drink.

I indulge myself but keep my hedonism in check, avoid animal products but ain't no hardcore vegan, learn and teach the most as I can. Spread love and what I have seen around in this crazy world that we are living in.

If you have a dog I might spend more time with they than you. Sorry in advance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meet locals, learn their culture, show mine. Find worm places to stay a little time and worm hearts to live forever.

Interests

- I love sciences. Of all kinds. From Anthropology to Quantum Physics (I suck calculating but I love the theories). I have some knowledge in history, specially Latin America, and psychology. Always trying to keep up with my informal studies. I have some interest in aliens and conspiracy theories, but I don't get crazy about it. Not too much...😂

- I'm a big fan of cinema, specially sci-fi and gangster movies, also some action and drama. But regardless the genre, a good movie is a good movie.

- I like some sports, specially outdoor. I'm not good in any, but aways in the mood to activate! I've practiced martial arts for several years, but the non-harm philosophy of Jiu-Jitsu will be aways in my heart and mind.

- I love hanging out in bars where people are able to mingle and have fun conversations. And play pool. I'm not a fan of clubs and going out for dancing, although I can do it in special occasions.

- I enjoy pairing a nice meal with a good wine and deep conversation. I enjoy the scent of a good whisky for several minutes before sipping it.

- Hate the system, but love System of a Down. Full of Rage Against The Machine...🤘

Music, Movies, and Books

Kubrick = God
Tarantino = Jesus Christ
Scorsese = Holy Spirit
Matrix trilogy
Alien Saga (Oh, Lt. Ripley...🥰)

Metal, Hardcore, Flamenco guitar, Classic, Jazz, Blues, Funk & Soul. Not necessarily in this order.

2001: a Space Odyssey (book and movie - they're both incomplete without eachother)
Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.
Las Venas Abiertas de America Latina.
Cat's Cradle

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Hitchhiking all over South America.

- Swimming with sea lions.

- Hiking to find a lost civilization.

- Crossing the Amazon Forest through the river.

Teach, Learn, Share

- I work as a mixologist bartender for the last 6 years, and also as cook and waiter, and I plan doing it for a couple of years more. So I'm eager to teach, learn and share everything related to this industry.

- I'm a yoga practitioner and vegetarian. I'm not a instructor but we can practice together and I can give you some tips on eating healthy. I also have some knowledge in massage and reflexology that can help in some health issues, specially trouble sleeping. I had it for some time and it helped me a lot.

- I speak good English, Spanish and, naturally, Portuguese, and I consider myself a good teacher. I'm learning German and could use some help...😁

- My next Profession will be DIVER!!! And maybe in adventure sports. So anyone who has experiences with those, I'm craving to hear it!

- Music is my frustrated talent I guess. I try to learn the guitar since I was 13, but I always drop it for some ages. Since lockdown I'm taking it more seriously and super eager to learn, including music theory, which I always rejected...😂. So musicians are more then welcome. Or any artist. Or any cool human being. Or dog...😁

What I Can Share with Hosts

- First of all, I love to cook and prepare drinks for my hosts, I always like to reiterate this. I can teach you some recipes (even though I'm unable to follow recipes...) and techniques.

- I used to be a sports teacher, so can help you to fit some exercises in your life and give you some tips about eating healthy, even though I don't follow it so religiously.

- I can recommend a ton of good movies that will match your taste if you first tell me something about what you like to whatch.

- I like music very much, mainly old or alternative stuff. Is very improbable that the charts gets me. But in this I guess I'm more open to learn about your taste than show you stuff.

- I'm very interested in people and their minds. I'm a good listener. I enjoy deep and long conversations, and I love to tackle a good ol' taboo.
