About Me

PLEASE NO FRIEND REQUESTS FROM RANDOM PEOPLE
STATE YOUR BUSINESS OR YOUR FRIEND REQUEST WILL BE DENIED SWIFTLY

Dear traveler(s), welcome to Norrköping!
PLEASE READ "MY HOME" BEFORE SENDING A REQUEST ("Read more" just below Accepting guests if you're on mobile). I'M BETTER WITH LAST MINUTE REQUESTS OR A FEW DAYS IN ADVANCE (a month ahead is just too far ahead).

FOR PEOPLE VISITING LINKÖPING/NORRKÖPING: Both towns are linked by a train system. It takes roughly 20 minutes between them. Otherwise there is this campus bus especially for students of LiU that runs between those towns, and it's free of charge for all students of LiU.

Keep that in mind for broadening your search radius.

"only a real friend tell you if you got dirt on your face"

Hi people, I'm a Estonian-Swede. One of very few (limited edition). Born in Tallinn, Estonia (or what once was part of Soviet), and staying in Sweden (nobody here thinks I'm a foreigner due to my perfect Swedish accent). And I have this urge for traveling (no, that didn't sound lame at all, but it's true). In the early days my economy was quite restrained but I've since advanced and actually got a decent job (for now). I go to a lot of shows (and I mean really A LOT). I probably saw about 100 artists/bands in 2014. Although that number has slightly declined over the years due to more interest in raves and that I've already seen most of my favorite artists. So yeah, traveling a lot from city to city in my own little country. But hopefully I can break some barriers and force myself outside this safe bubble I can call Sweden.

Please assist me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It might sound like a cliche, but I have this urge to discover the world around me and connect with people in it. Experience culture, cousins, differences, similarities and much more. It's probably a lot cooler than going for a tourist approach (like staying in a hotel).

The mission (also a cliche) is to travel around the world with my Brompton bike, when time and funds allows it. In a near future I hope to visit South Korea since I'm very fond of the movies from that country (I've seen about 200 of them, no joke). Hopefully I'll be sipping on some soju and meeting up with Brompton-bikers over there.

I don't know why I got totally verified. I don't care if you ain't. The most important thing is that you seem like an alright person.

I'm usually away a lot, but don't fret to ask if you need a place to stay.

I'm sorry for being late at replying. I can't find a good way to get notifications on my mobile (since I'm on the run often). But I'll try to find a solution. In the meantime have patience.

I hope you read "My Home" ("Read more" just below Accepting guests if you're on mobile) before sending me a request? :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: 5 231 artists in total according to my last.fm (2019) so yeah. I'm not lying by saying I listen to a lot (like most are). I enjoy going to shows a lot as well.

But a select few artists/bands I enjoy: Front Line Assembly - Bong-Ra - Atari Teenage Riot - Strapping Young Lad - Ulver - Teitanblood - Nasum - Tool - Sigur Rós - Dälek - A Tribe Called Quest - Squarepusher - 65daysofstatic - Dødheimsgard - Last Days of Humanity - Swans - Libido Airbag - Pink Floyd - Godflesh - Enter Shikari - Meshuggah - Hocico - Converter - Tarmvred - Röyksopp - Electric Wizard - Anthony Rother - Mike Oldfield - Skream - Nu:tone - Alice Deejay - Dj Rap - I Break Horses - Stars of the Lid - 50 Caliber LBU - Shpongle - Alphaville - James Blake - Envy

Movies: I'm a member of a Swedish movie site similar to IMDb, and if I got my numbers correct I've seen over 2 500 movies (I'm transferring all of it slowly to IMDb...). A select few favourites: 12 Angry Men (1957) - Lawrence of Arabia (1962) - Sanjuro (1962) - Stalker (1979) - The Evil Dead (1981) - Das Boot (1981) - Commando (1985) - The Naked Gun (1988) - Funny Games (1997) - Gummo (1997) - Happiness (1998) - Ichi the Killer (2001) - 28 Days Later (2002) - 3-iron / Bin-Jip (2004) - Slipp Jimmy Fri / Free Jimmy (2006) - Enter the Void (2009) - My Name Is Kahn (2010) - Borgman (2013) - Réalité / Reality (2014)

If you have read this far then I'm up for getting some cool tips. I like about everything except romantic comedies. I tend to get a bit bored by costume dramas as well (but it's still worth a try).

Books: The Disaster Artist - A book about how The Room (2003) was actually made. Your best bet is to listen to the audiobook. And yes, you'll have to see the movie as well. I'll probably force you to do it if I'm to host you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited Berghain in Berlin with my Brompton. I had to promise that I wouldn't bicycle inside.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing is caring, as once said. Which still applies.

I can provide tips for raves in Sweden in general (maybe Denmark as well). But only if I consider you worthy. ;)

I know where to get a good burger (vegetarian alternatives as well).
As well as increasing vegan alternatives.
Ask me, and I might even join you for a bite.

If you're curious about dialects and accents. Then you might want to know that we speak a special dialect here (östgötska), which is pretty much frowned upon. But it's still part of my identity which I happen to like.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A place to stay (obviously).

Wisdom, music, cultural differences.
Estonian and Swedish customs, political and religious discussions.

Recommendations about town (I know a lot of people and I know a lot about this town) and about Sweden overall (great trivia).

How to fold and unfold a Brompton.

Loads of music, loads of videogames.

Maybe fancy a game of Cards Against Humanity? :)

Please read "My Home" section ("Read more" just below Accepting guests if you're on mobile).

And just to be on the clear: My home is LGBTIQ-friendly.
