Hey! I’m Alain — originally from Alexandria, Egypt. Moved to NYC in 2021 for school and currently doing an exchange program in Paderborn, Germany. I love meeting new people, and like having good conversations over coffee, drinks or while exploring a city. I think Couchsurfing is such a cool way to meet people beyond the usual tourist stuff. I like hanging out, cooking together, grabbing a drink, or just chilling and chatting. When I travel, it’s nice to stay with someone local and see the real side of a place. When I’m at home, I like offering the same — a small but cozy place and a warm welcome.

I listen to pretty much everything and I’m always looking for new artists. My favorite genres are hip-hop, DJ and dance music — artists like Stromae and Gims are favorites. I also enjoy nature documentaries. I read books too, but not as much as I’d like — I’m always open to good recommendations.
