Overview
About Me
I'm a college student at the University of Maryland, which is near Washington DC. I'm studying Psychology to hopefully become a therapist some day! I love learning about new people and seeing new things
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couch surfing to learn about culture from locals— guidebooks are great but nothing compares to the real deal. Ideally, I will find someone to host myself and my friend and show us around your city!
Interests
Aside from traveling, I really love arts and theatre— music was a huge part of my childhood and I have always appreciated art. Jewish culture is important to me; I'm Jewish (although not very religious) and recently went on Birthright to see Israel! I am also vegan, so I'll be looking for animal-free restaurants and food options in your city!
Music, Movies, and Books
I like almost all music, particularly soft pop and musical theatre. Some of my favorite artists are John Mayer, Train, Jason Mraz, and Gavin DeGraw (who I'm hoping to see live in a couple of months!). In terms of movies and TV, my favorites are usually comedies. I love Friends, Parenthood, and Parks and Recreation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Something amazing I've done is going on this trip to Europe! I have never travelled without my family or a tour group, so leaving for Europe with only a backpack and a friend was kind of scary. I am learning so much about the countries and cultures here, which is pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Let's compare lives! I'd love to exchange about school, work, language, and recreation in our countries. Beyond that, though, I want to learn about YOU as a person, beyond your country's culture. I'm a great listener and want to meet good people in my travels and at home.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can answer any questions you have about America — lots of people in Europe are excited to talk to a real American about politics (I have been getting lots of questions about Donald Trump). I would love to hear about systems in other countries, so having open minded conversations about culture and politics would definitely be up my alley.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Bahamas, Canada, Cayman Islands, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Virgin Islands, British
