Interests

I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things about a place, it's people and the culture. I love languages, film, art, hiking, architects and architecture, medical thrillers, good TV shows, british humour (owe it to the anglophilic remnants of my Indian high school education), history, and tea!

Music, Movies, and Books

After learning German in college, I have realized the importance of books, movies and music, and the role they constantly play in recording daily lives and current conditions. So all the countries I want to visit, I can experience through music, movies and books. I read a lot of fiction set in different countries.

As far as music is concerned, I enjoy some classical western music (think Bach and Mozart, part of my German learning experience), Jazz and blues (living in Chicago did me good), Beatles, and (the greatest band of all time) Queen!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Conduct after-school science experiments with inner-city middle school kids.
Who doesn't love teaching and learning how to make ice cream from scratch (with rock salt, creamer, flavouring) AND learning the science behind it?!

Biking from the east coast of america to the west coast while raising money for young adults affected by cancer. Stayed at YMCAs, churches and some generous host's backyards!

I love skills where I can use my hands...I learned pottery, knitting.
