About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

a passionate dreamer who loves to:

talk, discuss,
sing, marvel,
cook, savor,
live to remember...

PHILOSOPHY

Sharing what my countrymen SAINT AUGUSTINE (354-430 AD) once said: "The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page."

I think I read few pages… not bad… 🥴

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

+ Feeling so small standing in front of natural or manmade wonders and reconnecting with the time when I first learned about them as a small kid...
+ Connecting with people wherever I go...
+ Sleeping on top of a tree in the middle of a jungle in Uganda and watching elephants drink at night...
+ Spending time with Mountain Gorillas in their own environment in Rwanda...
+ Swimming with sharks..., turtles..., sea lions..., rays..., dolphins... and so many colorful fish... in so many seas, oceans, rivers and lakes...
+ Camping... among wild animals in East Africa..., in the Sahara Desert on New Year's Eve..., while canoeing along the Green River..., deep in majestic Havasupai..., on the edges of Kilauea under Pele's watch..., while lost in Baja California...
+ Meandering along vestiges of the Silk Road (see selected photos in 'My Website' section)... reliving the glories of the heydays of the Islamic World and the devastation brought by the marching Mongols!
+ Climbing Gunung Rinjani in Lombok... my knees still hurt, but my heart is still throbbing from the beauty I saw once I reached the summit...
+Totally drenched by the sheer flow of water from Iguazu Falls...
+Being enchanted every day of my one-month stay by the splendors of the most fascinating place on Earth: India
+Flying over the Himalayas and seeing Mt Everest upclose...
+ Setting foot on the 7th continent and appreciating the meaning of life on this desert of ice and snow...
+ Demystifying the mysteries of the Moais and feeling the unicity of Rapa Nui...
+ Working for Greenpeace...
+ Fox hunting with Eagle Hunters on the hills of Bayan Ulgii in western Mongolia, with snow-caped mountains reflecting their beauty on the lakes below and a temperature reaching -10 degrees Celsius ( thankfully the fox caught run away unharmed)...
+ Climbing the Khongor sand dune in the Gobi Desert...
+ Being able to visit the ´Happiest’ country: Bhutan… and it is definitely a ‘happy’ place to be in…
+ Visiting Iraq and discovering its riches, it’s deep history and the beauty of its people …
+Discovering hospitality and pure goodness in Sudan… just before the war and human madness hit… very sad…
