Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Alan (my parents don't quite agree on how it should be pronounced, so call me whatever you want), I am a design student living with my fellow classmate Bernardo (see friends tab for more info). I am a curious mix of introvert in one on one talks, and extrovert in groups. For most of my life I have been a good for nothing couch potato, but I am trying to change that, and CS is one step in this long journey. I am also pretty bad at writing "about me"s and intros, and I hate how I repeated "I am" four times in this paragraph.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Basically, because I am tired of being a couch potato studying, working and gaming all day long. I want to explore the world (and my very own hughmungus country), meet new people and have some epic adventures! Oh, and I also want to fill my kitchen with ingredients from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I listen to a lot of stuff, and my favorite bands and genres change a lot. Currently, I am listening to a lot of progressive metal, mainly Pain of Salvation, Dream Theater and Tool. I also love samba, synth wave, jazz, and folk music, and my all time favorite album is Tarkus, from Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
Movies:
I watch movies very sporadically, mostly because of my short attention span. I have a deep distaste for blockbusters, especially super hero movies and this new trend of live-action interpretations of classic animations. My favorite movies are The Wrestler, Whiplash, Moonrise Kingdom and The Godfather.
Books:
Thanks to the aforementioned short attention span, I have a pretty hard time reading books. I mostly read books on design for the university, but I am a fan of Tolkien, Andrzej Sapkowski, Douglas Adams and H. P. Lovecraft.
Games:
I also do love narrative driven games. Triple A's are not really my thing, though -- I like the often shorter, more interesting ones, that use the medium in their favor. Games like Firewatch, The Witness, Her Story, The Stanley Parable and Hellbalde: Senua's Sacrifice.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Oh boy... Hm... I can lick my elbow.
Teach, Learn, Share
Disclaimer: I am not very good at teaching.
Teach: cooking, ceramics, board games, photoshop, portuguese, maybe some photography, though Bernardo is much better at that, and poormen's cosplay (see my photos for reference).
Learn: I am particularly interested in improving my english, but I am eager to learn anything!
Share: good games, movies, songs, (southern) brazilian culture, and a bottle of apple juice (I don't drink alcohol).
EDIT: as of the 15th of june I drink alcohol very sporadically and in little quantities.
