My name is Alan Hester. I grew up in rural Southwest Michigan, which taught me much of respect and tolerance. I studied English and liberal arts at the University of Michigan, then spent a few years traveling internationally and living in other states.

I always like getting to know new places and people, and am always looking for the most authentic experience. When I was younger, I learned from my family; as an adolescent I learned from school and university; now as a young adult, I learn from other people and new experience.
