About Me

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, USA! I'm a super optimistic person, always looking on the bright side of things. I'm formally trained in finance, but I have the mind of an engineer and the heart of a teacher. I love sports, music, the outdoors, and meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One summer in college, I backpacked Europe with my best friend, and I had the time of my life. After college, I've been so busy working (often multiple full-time jobs simultaneously) that I haven't been able to travel much. So I quit my jobs in June 2018, and I'm making up for lost time. Let's make some memories!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Collective Soul and anything like it (alternative rock)
Movies: basically Documentaries of all types
Books: almost anything non-fiction, especially self-improvement, business, traveling, and psychology

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a big believer that education is the solution to just about every problem in the world, but sadly, I don't believe that formal education in America is very effective. My biggest "professional" dream has always been to start my own school, and help kids develop the hard and soft skills that will help them succeed in life. I thought I'd have to wait until I was 40 or 50 years old, with plenty of money saved up, until I could pursue my dream, but by some miracle, it happened in my 20's. It was an amazing experience (on so many levels), and I'd be happy to share all the details over a drink or two :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I LOVE learning and teaching. You can teach me anything you'd like, or I can teach you some of my specialties: personal finance, global finance, math, Excel, Bitcoin, blockchain, psychology. Or, we can learn something together! Right now I'm learning Spanish, German, guitar, chess, and khet.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm really good at helping people solve their problems, from personal finance to interpersonal conflict to making a square peg fit into a round hole. I'm happy to lend a set of hands, a pair of ears, or just be a companion.
