About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Master Kung-Fu, write a book worth reading, create a game worth playing, draw comics, record an album, dance as much as possible, spread joy

ABOUT ME

I just wrapped up a yearish-long wander around the world after deciding I had enough of the silicon valley life and making electric cars for awhile and needed to meet the people of the world and see what I can before I get any older. Check out my map to see where I've been so far- I'd love to tell you about a place if you're interested! You can also check out the blog my travel partner Danielle set up on facebook if you want to see what I've been up to:

I am always looking for a way to make the world a better place and for ways to challenge myself to grow as a human being.

Everybody thinks I look like an Air Force pilot or something, but I'm just a silly person who loves to laugh and dance and love and make things better.

I'm currently making a new kind of role-playing game that's going to change the world! Help me make it by playing it with me!

PHILOSOPHY

Give love and fear not.
Money can't buy you love.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Don't be a jerk.
Everything can be fixed.
Don't judge.
Any opinion is just as valid as all the others- which is to say totally invalid so chill out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am relatively new to Couchsurfing and have only surfed, but I do my best to help out my hosts, cook for them, and generally try to keep CS a constructive, happy place. I am definitely NOT the increasingly typical skeezy party carpe diem CS traveler guy looking for a hookup using this magnificent network as a dating site. Boo to those guys.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed seven times now in Latvia, Russia, Turkey, Israel, India, Hong Kong, and Australia- all excellent experiences! I hope to host someday when I have a home.

Music, Movies, and Books

Just read The Dog Stars and The Road- both great books... on a bit of a post-apocalyptic kick right now.

Rock, hip hop, classical, dance, oldies- there's a time for any type music. Top bands right now: Beck, Black Keys, Edward Sharpe, Macklemore (from my hometown!), Ratatat

I've seen almost every movie ever made and I remember them all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Played "Louie Louie" on the accordion. Solo. On the giant Jumbotron screen at Houston's Reliant Stadium at the start of an American Football game. Again, some interesting phases in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can fix just about anything. I'm a rather handy person having worked as a very hands-on mechanical engineer helping to build an entirely new and novel electric car factory for Tesla Motors for the past 6 years. I love to fix things, particularly "domestic automation" around the house like your washing machine. I would be happy to teach you about machines, how things are made, or how to repair and make things yourself.

I've had some interesting phases in my life, and I can also teach you how to fight, shoot guns, grill meat, play the accordion, and mix drinks, if you like.

I also very much enjoy conversations about alternative energy, electric vehicles, and economics in general.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Morocco, Peru, Portugal, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
