Overview
About Me
An ordinary man exploring this extraordinary world.
I left my job in London; landed in India on 31-December-2015 - and I've been travelling ever since...
Our world is staggeringly beautiful, the people wonderfully diverse, and our shared history is long and complex. I want to sample a little of this: and this is what drives me to Travel.
I travel slowly and with an open mind to
engage with people and culture in meaningful ways.
I've learned a lot about life whilst travelling - learned from people living in the jungle, from city Buddhist Monks, from old men talking to me in cafes and plenty from my Couchsurfing hosts.
I strongly believe in being honest, listening to people's opinions and ideas. Fundamentally, I believe in respecting each individual person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To engage with the world in a meaningful way 🙏🏼
I'm keen to immerse myself into local culture, and to see things from my host's perspective.
I like to ask questions, engage in cultural activities, read the history, and understand the social context. This is truly rewarding!
As a Couchsurfer, I am considerate to my host, respect their rules, offer help where I can and I'm tidy too!!

Music, Movies, and Books
How to answer?!!
I guess you'll know better if we meet-up. I enjoy listening acoustic & folk music - I'm learning to play guitar!
Any movie directed by Wes Anderson! Goofy & hilarious films too
I could write an essay on the books I read. Lots of non-fiction: history, physics, neuroscience...
Really enjoy reading travel books too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am fortunate to have experienced so much on my travels!!
-Sleeping alone in a cave once lived in by neolithic cavemen 40,000 years ago (they left cave paintings!)
-Staying with a traditional Ahka tribe family and observing an animist sacrifice to the Spirits
-Hiking up an active volcanoe (3800m high) in Indonesia at night watching electrical storms below
-Camping alone in the Moroccan desert with stars so bright I could almost touch them
Teach, Learn, Share
I will happily share my experiences and what I've learned along my travels. And I'd like to hear your stories too!
If you're interested, I can help you practice your English.
I can teach basic: guitar, baking, cooking (especially Indian food!).
Or perhaps we can meditate together?
Build some good karma :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
My ear. I'm happy to listen - it's a delicate skill that's overlooked.
Help you out wherever possible🤘🏼. DIY, fixing things in the home, looking after the cat/dog.
I'm not good with computers, but I can certainly help you cook!
