ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Alan Jardine and I'm an open-minded, fun-loving, out-going, free- thinking, travelling culture vulture. Born in London a long time ago, I served 10 years of military service in the Royal Navy, which instilled in me a love for travel and experiencing different cultures. Although an electrical engineer by trade, I re-qualified as a teacher of English 10 years ago to enable me to travel the world. I've now lived in 5 different countries. I've been resident in Slovakia for 3 years.

Interests

Music has always been a significant part of my life, both listening and playing.
As a vegetarian, food is not so important for me, however I love cooking for others!
Experiencing and learning from other cultures.
Being young-at-heart and a social animal, I still get a buzz from rock concerts and parties. :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the birth of my children was the most moving experience of my life.
Sunrise in the Gobi Desert and sunset over Angkor Wat.
Being chosen to represent my country in the highest sporting event.
Reaching the summit of the Hintertux Glacier and contemplating the silence and view.
Living in China.
