Chi sono

Currently traveling, so I'm unable to accept guests at the moment. In the future, I'd love to host again!

I grew up on Bruny, a tiny island off the south coast of Tasmania (an island off the south coast of Australia.) My wanderlust began pretty early in life and hasn't stopped since. I believe that despite its conflicts, we live in a beautiful world, and we are here to enjoy it while we can. Travel helps us form shared understandings, and it opens our eyes to the world around us. Life is far too short to never expand your horizons.

I used to be one hell of a planner if I travelled, and I was stuck in a routine with everything from my daily run to my morning coffee always the same. Nowadays I've learned to go with the flow and see where life takes me. Nowadays I'm happy to call anywhere home - from hostels, to campers, the couch of a friendly stranger, a blanket under the stars or the arms of someone I love. To say that this has changed the way I see the world for the better, would be an understatement. This has lead to so many wonderful experiences with wonderful company... safe to say it's working out pretty well so far 😋

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

For new experiences, local knowledge, friends and horizons.

As for the immediate future, I'm on here because I'm currently living in France with french partner Steeven. We're off to New Zealand for a working holiday in November, and who knows where else next! We'd love to spend as much time as we can Couchsurfing! Whilst I'm fairly new to this site myself (hence the lack of references) my friends and boyfriend love it and I am super keen to try it out.

My housemates/ family back in Australia hosted many people in Hobart/ on Bruny Island in Tasmania. I think that this is a wonderful concept, and I can't wait to be a part of it! Whilst I can't host at the moment, count me in for the future if you ever end up in Australia! My door will be open, my couch and spare bed will be free, and there will be a cold beer or nice warm cup of tea in your hands before you know it😋

Musica, film e libri

Movies: I could go on forever, but my all-time faves are probably Pulp Fiction, Breakfast at Tiffanys, The Princess Bride and (going to group a heap in a bundle here...) many classic cult series such as Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter.

TV: Game Of Thrones, Black Books, Father Ted, The Good Place, Orange Is The New Black, Jane The Virgin, Vikings, Outlander.

Books:
To Kill A Mockingbird, Atlas Obscura, The Great Gatsby, A Visit From The Goon Squad, The Book Theif
(And the list goes on! Always looking to read new things)

Music: Show me your favorites! I'm always keen to find new music. My love of music is very versatile. My favorite style is probably reggae or old school blues/ Jazz.

As for artists I'm currently into:
Norah Jones, The Dandy Warholes, Bob Marley, Ray Charles, Dubinc, pretty much anything Reggae, Jack Johnson, Florence & The Machine, Pink Floyd, Van Morrison, Tryo, Caravan Palace, London Grammar, Paul Kelly and Lana Dell Rey just to name a few. I'll basically listen to anything :)

My favourite songs are Blackbird by the Beatles and Three Little Birds by Bob Marley.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I travelled to Lombok, Indonesia in 2016 where I lived for 2 months teaching English and volunteering at a kindergarten, as well as learning Bahasa Indonesia.

Another memorable experience I have is cave diving and cliff jumping in Samoa's Tsua Trench. We had to climb down a rope ladder from a cliff, which lead to a natural pool. From here we swam under a rock face into a cave, and out again into the ocean. Nearby there were also waterfalls that you could slide or surf down, and great jumping cliffs. Highly recommend going!

I moved to France in July this year, which has been life changing.

Insegna, impara, condividi

Things I can share:
Knowledge of Tas.
An open mind and heart.
Yoga or acro yoga knowledge.
Cooking,
Surf lessons if you're keen,
My love of teaching/ children.
I'm always looking to experience new things 😋

I'd love to learn to see places as the locals do, I think that shared understanding is really special and that if you breeze through places doing only tourist things you'll never truly experience anywhere. So, that's where you come in!

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

I'm an open minded and easy going person, so is my partner Steeven who I'll be travelling with. We take each day as it comes, and we're always open to a good time, new experiences and making new friends

We both love to cook, and Steeven is a Pastry Chef/ Chocolate maker, so we'd love to cook for you! I'm more than happy to help out around the house, and we're both very tidy people. If you want people you can laugh with, who are always up for anything but who will respect your personal space when you need it, we're your couple! If you ever come to Australia, you'll find a host waiting to welcome you, make some crazy memories, and show you all that the island of Tasmania has to offer.
