About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying the old and exploring the new

ABOUT ME

I moved to Utah when I was 10 years old, and I was not a fan. I was one of those over-achiever kids that made plans upon plans to get out of town, but somehow, I found that when college graduation time rolled around, I wanted to head back to the homestead. I had fallen in love with how beautiful this place is and the surprisingly cool arts culture that is springing up here. I've done some traveling, but not nearly enough. I'm trying to enjoy myself where I am, as much as I'm trying to save up to see some more of the world and its people.

After moving in with some friends I grew up with and a delightful stranger that is now a close friend, I stumbled upon my passion working for public community radio in Salt Lake. If you're in town, tune in to KRCL 90.9FM and maybe you'll hear my voice suggesting a local business or event. I've started taking guitar lessons so I can make music instead of just listen to it. I was a vegetarian for 5 years before I switched to veganism. I'm thrilled and never turning back. I love to cook. I'm notoriously opinionated, but I want to hear what you have to say, and around our house you'll have as many conversations about politics, feminism, and environmentalism as you will about Disney Channel Original movies, Scottish dance bands, and Burning Man. I'm pretty happy with where I am right now, and I'm realizing that its time to put long-term plans on the back-burner and live my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the past few months I've been coasting on my housemate's account to field couch requests. We've had a bunch of people stay at our place, and I look forward to having more. I'm also about to start requesting couches for upcoming travels.

Just to let you know, it is very likely that I will not host you if you don't address me by name in your request.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I was a bit hesitant about letting strangers roam free in my home, I have been continually happily surprised by the considerate, funny, interesting, helpful, smart, and kind people we have hosted. My housemates and I have also met some amazing friends in town through Couchsurfing, and I couldn't imagine loving life in Salt Lake as much as I do, without them.
