ABOUT ME

I grew up in Ventura, lived in Riverside, CA years ago, and spent many years in Wilmington, Delaware. I have 4 grown kids (all of whom have participated in Couch surfing), am a retired special education teach in Delaware, and am now happily spending my retirement back in Ventura where I volunteer tutor, garden, bake, and just enjoy Ventura!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Now that I have my own home again, small that it may be, I am in a position to host people. I had taken a break from couch surfing but am now back! My little house was renovated, and the view is still amazing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with a few wonderful hosts, both up in Sacramento, and when traveling across this beautiful country in 2008 summer. I am always amazed at the kindness of strangers :) In St Louis, I got to go contra dancing and a fun mystery bus tour of the city with my hosts, an my host in Tulsa spent hours driving me around helping me deal with notary publics and faxes! And in Sacrament, the kindness of my hosts, during my time of need for my daughter, cannot be put into words.

Back in Delaware, before moving west this summer, I had the fun experiences taking a gal to Longwood Gardens, and a Kiwi couple to their first American baseball game!

I feel that I have made friends with each of my experiences and can't wait to expand my circle.

I enjoy reading, gardening, vegetarian cooking, walks along the Ventura trails and beaches, contra dancing and bike riding (finally got a new bike).

I enjoy "feel good" movies, or good dramas. As my children can testify, I have trouble with tense or scary ones! My musical taste is very eclectic, as long as it is not so loud that it will injure my hearing. I do enjoy reading, ranging from historical novels, mysteries, and cook books!
