About Me
Finally getting back into couchsurfing after a whirlwind two years living in the UK and travelling all over Europe. Been back home in Australia for a while and miss my travelling life so much, I figure the next best thing is to host and connect with other travellers to share their experiences.
I enjoying travelling (obviously) and I absolutely love cooking for friends. I made it a personal goal to learn a new recipe in each country I visited since I couldn't bring back souvenirs and my friends appreciate it much more! So if someone is willing to teach me something about language, culture, food or any particular interest then we will get along great!
"It's better to be happy for a moment and be burned up by beauty, than to live a long time and be bored all the while - Don Marquis" is a lovely little quote I like to live by :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I prefer the idea of staying with people who know that area and that I can learn a little from. I think the couchsurfing community is amazing because we all love travelling and can bond over that.
I'm more than happy to respect if you'd like your own space, however equally happy sharing stories over a glass of wine (or two)
Stayed with two different people in Paris and the experience went really well so I'm looking forward to more experiences like that hopefully when I travel again
Interests
Reading, camping, long nights with beers and good conversation, I love to cook for friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
Philip Pullman and Neil Gaiman are my absolute favourite. And I love any poem by Pablo Neruda. Currently, I'm reading the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman.
My music is very broad but I am a sucker for songs that really 'unwind' me - Fleetwood Mac, CCR, Billie Holiday etc
TV; Black Books and IT Crowd I will never tire of, Game of Thrones, Mighty Boosh and Twin Peaks
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had a really sweet experience in Amsterdam that stuck with me. My friend and I were completely lost trying to get to Anne Frank Huis and ran into a tea store (I love tea) where the assistant there was so kind and helpful. I went back the next day with some chocolates and a note to thank him for getting us there on time. He was so surprised and grateful - the companies facebook page has a photo of it because he was so impressed. I think the people I've met whilst travelling have been as amazing as the things I've seen so far.
Teach, Learn, Share
When it comes to learning things I'll take any opportunity that comes my way. I'm mad about cooking, languages and know a few great fun facts.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share some really great stories (well I find them entertaining), and am always willing to cook or supply wine to "pay my way". I like to think I'm a considerate guest as well as host
