Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been staying on the couches of many friends and family full time since I embarked on a cross-country adventure mid-November. Now I am on my return trip and hope to find people to stay with in new places that I wouldn't be able to see without the generosity of strangers in my travels back to the west coast.

Interests

I'm a 31 yr old currently in the middle of a 3 month cross country trek from Oakland to RI and back. With a background in photography and printmaking I am still a film camera slinging fool with a growing collection of sweaters to protect me from the Polar Vortex and Bombogenesis that I've stumbled into in New England. Other interests are running, hiking to see waterfalls, spending time with family, whiskey, homemade marmalade, puzzles, stories of random kindness and wikipedia-curiousity-cycles. I also love trying new local tasty treats including artisinal cocktails, brews and hole-in-the-wall finds!

Music, Movies, and Books

Many many. Photo books, fiction, food/wine books. Really into cooking recipes from Yotam Ottolenghi cookbooks on this trip--especially anything with winter squash and za'atar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After visiting 6 National Parks and many old friends in the past couple of months it's becoming more difficult to answer this question everyday. The Grand Canyon, Joshua Tree and White Sands have been incredible.
