Overview
About Me
I’m Alan from Jakarta, Indonesia. I’m an open-minded and easygoing person who started traveling when I was 26, and since then, it has become a real passion of mine. My Instagram is @alandikakpa.
I love exploring the world, learning about different cultures, and understanding how people live their daily lives. When I travel, I prefer to stay a few days in one place and experience it like a local—trying new foods, discovering the city, and sharing stories with people I meet along the way.
I would describe myself as respectful, independent, and curious. I’m naturally a bit introverted at first, but I warm up quickly and enjoy meaningful conversations and genuine connections.
I can also be quite spontaneous when traveling, always open to new experiences—whether it’s exploring a neighborhood, visiting cultural spots, or enjoying the local nightlife. At the same time, I appreciate simple moments like relaxing, having a good chat, or just walking around the city.
I’m still relatively new to Couchsurfing, which you might notice from my limited references, but I’m genuinely excited to be part of this community and create positive, memorable experiences along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe traveling is not just about places, but also about people. I enjoy meeting locals and fellow travelers, hearing their stories, and seeing a destination from a more personal perspective.
I’m especially interested in cultural exchange—whether it’s sharing experiences, learning how people live, or simply having a good conversation. For me, even a short interaction can leave a lasting impression.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I’ve done is step out of my comfort zone and start traveling later in life. I took my first real trip when I was 26, and since then, I’ve been intentionally exploring new places, cultures, and perspectives.
One experience that stands out was embracing a more natural and open lifestyle during my time in Bali. It helped me become more comfortable with myself, let go of insecurities, and connect with others in a more genuine, open-minded way.
It may not sound extreme, but for me, it was a meaningful shift—choosing to experience the world more fully, be present, and create real connections along the way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
