About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I dream of becoming the chessboxing world champion.

ABOUT ME

One of the things I hate most in the world, after bedbugs, Nazis, and Nazi bedbugs, is making vague generalizations about myself.

PHILOSOPHY

I often wish for problems to come up just so I can have something to not worry about.

I subscribe to many of the beliefs of the Baal Shem Tov and Ralph Waldo Emerson. I never, ever judge anyone based on their religious beliefs. I do judge people who use those beliefs to harm other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once in Israel, and for a week and a half in Rome - I've been traveling all year and my CS experiences have been the highlights.

Interests

I am interested in nothing more than a perfect cup, or mug, of Bedouin tea. A distant second is classical music. My other interests include making sandwiches, playing and watching European soccer (football for everyone outside America), hiking, reading, reading poetry, and playing chess. I like travelling too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a special spot in my heart for classical music. I also like Radiohead, Weezer, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, The Shins, Neutral Milk Hotel, Jew Daddy, and the Decemberists.

There are far too many movies and books I like for me to narrow it down for this thing. I really do love reading though.

TV shows: How I Met Your Mother, The Office, Futurama, Arrested Development, House, Monty Python

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've hiked half the length of Israel sleeping at strangers' houses/lawns/fishing huts along the way. I survived an attack of bedbugs. I have been threatened by an angry baboon. I wrote an epic poem. I once fell from a cliff and lived.

Teach, Learn, Share

Never run twelve miles with a sprained toe. Never drink after giving blood.

Countries I’ve Visited

Egypt, Jordan, Poland
