À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

To backpack around the world and share my stories with friends I love who live vicariously through me and to encourage them to do the same (phew!)

ABOUT ME

I'm a petrol head. I love riding motorcyles and have been riding them since I was 15. When I'm not riding motorcycles, I'm creating art or programming computer games or writing mobile apps or photographing friends who pretend to be models. I freelance and consequently live a fairly time independent life. I.LOVE.TRAVELLING. I started travelling in my early 30's which I admit is kinda late but it opened my mind and shifted my perspective so profoundly that it has become the primary source of education as far as I am concerned. Life lessons and all that!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe I know nothing and that my insatiable curiosity will take me to happy places. Given that I have so much to learn about life, love and humanity, "I know nothing" doesn't seem so far off the mark and I only became aware of how little I know when I started logging off the network and meeting real people from different cultures. This was rather late in life since I was a geek most of my life and glued to my computer. I realized then, what I constantly say now, popular media doesn't capture 99% of the goodness of the world. I'm not a conspiracy theorist though. I'm motivated only by curiosity of the real world with a specific attraction to people in general. Travelling and meeting people from different cultures and digging deep into the vast treasure trove of personal experiences of people around the world seems like a great way to satiate my curiosity and of course make some fantastic new friends.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couch-surfing. I've neither surfed nor hosted yet because I only discovered it a month or two ago. Though I'd like to start doing both! It's a wonderful opportunity to meet people from different cultures and learn and share!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I mentioned earlier, I'm new to couch-surfing.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Oh so many! My favourite book of all time would be The FountainHead - Ayn Rand and more recently Jupiter's Travels by Ted Simon wherein he describes his 4 year journey around the world on his motorcycle (a Triumph). In music I like pop, trance, psy, pretty much anything really. But I'm kinda biased to the music of the 80's and 90's. I watch a lot of movies but I don't have a particular favourite!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

One of my most incredible adventures was when I rode my motorcycle alone from Mumbai to Leh, Ladhak deep into the Himalayas. It was a 45 day biking trail, I got lost several times, but I was rescued EVERY TIME by helpful locals. Not only did this reaffirm my faith in the goodness of people, it also got me curious about the rest of humanity - people and places I had yet to see. I have been travelling since! :)

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can teach what I think I know best - which is riding motorcycles (from a touring perspective, I am not a race track rider!) If you've always had "learn-how-to-ride-a-two-wheeler" on your bucket list, I may just be the right person for the job!
